Good Day InfraGard Chicago Members Alliance,

It seems as though we have turned the corner towards Spring in Chicagoland.  Enjoy the next few weeks.  ????????

As a follow up to my recent election to the ICMA Board of Directors and my recent appointment to Programming Director of ICMA please accept my very humble thanks on the confidence seen in me to be a leader within our community.

On to programming:

There is an upcoming Quarterly Meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 8am to Noon.  This hopes to be our very final Virtual-only meeting; the August meeting will be held both virtually and in person.

If you have not yet clicked, you must want to know more.  OK, here goes.

During the May 2022 ICMA Meeting we will:

1) Discuss recent changes in the Infragard.org portal.

Did you know that less than 30% of our nearly 1,800 ICMA members are considered ‘Active‘ by the FBI?  Active members receive more timely security information & updates and are considered key partners in protecting our National infrastructure.

2) Two esteemed speakers from academia have agreed to speak to our chapter on Russia and Ukraine respectively:

We will hear from Dr. Robert Person, PhD from West Point:  An Associate Professor of International Relations at the United States Military Academy and Director of Curriculum for West Point’s International Affairs Program. He teaches courses in Russian and post-Soviet politics, political economy, international relations, and comparative politics.  Follow at: @rtperson3 or FB: https://www.facebook.com/ModernWarInstitute/

Dr. Person is a frequent co-contributor on writings with the 7th United States Ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul.

Also speaking, Dr. Petia Kostadinova, PhD from UIC: An Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at UIC.  She studies the politics and policies of the European Union and its member states.  Prior to UIC, she worked at the Center for European Studies at the University of Florida.  She received her PhD from Florida State and BA from American University in Bulgaria. With kind thanks,

Mike
