Ricardo Gonzalez

With over two decades of leadership experience in the technology sector, I have dedicated my career to building strategic partnerships, fostering collaborative growth, and executing high-impact sponsorship initiatives that drive engagement and results. My professional journey has spanned executive business development, channel partnerships, and marketing leadership roles — each centered on connecting organizations, people, and ideas to create measurable outcomes. I am eager to bring this experience to InfraGard Chicago as a board member driving Sponsorships to expand awareness, strengthen member engagement, and secure sustainable funding that supports the chapter’s critical mission.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in cultivating strategic alliances that create value for all stakeholders involved. As Vice President of Partnerships and Alliances for a leading digital transformation consultancy, I manage relationships with cybersecurity, cloud, and IT managed service providers across the country. These partnerships consistently deliver revenue growth through joint go-to-market initiatives, co-sponsored executive events, and shared educational programs for CIOs, CISOs, and other technology leaders. I’ve personally overseen annual marketing budgets exceeding $250,000 — balancing fiscal discipline with creativity to maximize ROI from every sponsorship and event. This hands-on experience managing sponsorship funds, securing co-marketing commitments, and aligning multiple organizations toward shared outcomes directly aligns with the expectations for the Head of Sponsorships role at InfraGard.

I believe successful sponsorship programs require more than just funding — they require strategic storytelling, relationship trust, and a strong sense of purpose. Over the years, I’ve learned that the best sponsors aren’t just financial contributors; they are active partners who believe in the mission and want to be part of the journey. I’ve built multi-sponsor events bringing together Fortune 500 tech firms, emerging cybersecurity innovators, and private equity leaders to share insights on risk management, compliance, and resilience — topics at the very heart of InfraGard’s mission. My network across Chicago’s business and technology community gives me access to decision-makers at companies that value security, community service, and visibility — making them ideal sponsorship candidates. We have to modernize and present value as we choose our sponsorship partners.

As a relationship-builder by nature, I’ve always focused on creating long-term engagement rather than one-off transactions. My approach to sponsorship development emphasizes alignment between brand, mission, and audience. For InfraGard, that means identifying sponsors who not only provide financial support but who also share the commitment to public-private collaboration in protecting critical infrastructure. I plan to develop a sponsorship framework that creates clear value propositions for corporate partners — including brand visibility, executive participation, and access to educational and networking opportunities — while maintaining the integrity of InfraGard’s mission and member experience.

Another key focus of my vision for this role is expanding awareness and membership growth through sponsorship visibility. Many organizations in the technology, financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors are unaware of InfraGard’s resources and impact. Through strategic partnerships and joint events, we can raise awareness among executive audiences while generating new funding opportunities. I have successfully executed similar programs that attracted C-level audiences through breakfast briefings, panel discussions, and cybersecurity roundtables — each co-sponsored by partner organizations eager to align themselves with credible, mission-driven platforms.

I also bring extensive experience in managing marketing teams and coordinating with vendors, speakers, and industry groups to deliver seamless event experiences.  Our approach at ICMA might become more   data-driven and relationship-centric — ensuring sponsors receive measurable value while InfraGard gains the support and visibility needed to grow its influence. By leveraging digital channels, local media, and LinkedIn outreach, I would work to elevate InfraGard Chicago’s profile and attract both corporate and individual sponsors aligned with our shared objectives.

Beyond professional credentials, I am very motivated by InfraGard’s mission. As someone who has worked closely with cybersecurity practitioners, law enforcement liaisons, and IT executives, I understand the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors. I’ve witnessed firsthand how proactive communication and shared intelligence strengthen community resilience. Threat actors today are evolving at a rate that organizations CANNOT keep up with. They need help more than ever and InfraGard can play a crucial role in helping organizations stand up a proper cyber security strategy.
